Did those people never READ Orwell?

Posted by Lissa on February 14, 2012

The “Truth Team”? Oh for heaven’s sake, why go halfsies? Why not just bloody call it the Ministry of Truth?

“If the other guys are going to run a campaign based on misrepresenting the president’s record – and their own – we have two options: sit back and let these lies go unchallenged, or fight back with the truth,” deputy Obama campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said in an email. ”We’re fighting back.”

I know, I know. It’s not possible for anyone to oppose the liberal agenda from genuine concern or disagreement; one could only do so from malice, ignorance, or stupidity, and therefore one’s opinion can only be false.

All they need is a tail they can whisk as they skip back and forth . . .

(I wonder how much of my political thinking was because I read Animal Farm when I was too young to connect it to Communism.)

P.S. When I say “those people,” no, I do NOT mean “black people,” so stick it up your tailpipe.

  1. Orwell has long been my “go-to” guy for many great quotes. Though he was more or less a Socialist himself, he despised Communism. I don’t see much difference in the economic outcome from either “ism” myself. Eventually the Socialist types have to resort to violence to implement their ideals when folks find out it’s not quite what it’s cracked up to be.

History shows us that. It’s amazing though, how many are ignorant of that experience.

That idiot has got to go before we’re living an episode of “Big brother is watching”.

    Is it November yet?

  3. O.M.G. I love this post so much I want to have sex with it.

I just got back from some family time in which, once again, disagreeing with the liberal agenda somehow deems me some kind of untermensch, and I decided to inform my mother that it still hurts me that my whole family doesn’t seem to care how their passing judgments on me over the past five years is not something that has gone unnoticed or is easy to brush off….because they’ve been acting like it’s OK for them to judge me this way because their perspectives are, of course, the correct and true perspectives and I’m obviously the one with a fault in my viewpoints.
