Redneck, or Genius? You decide!

Posted by Lissa on March 22, 2011

Snapped at a red light on my commute home:

I’m speechless.  I can’t decide if that’s the most brilliant MacGuyver solution EVAH, or the most white-trash slapdash creation in the state of Florida.

What do you think?

Alas, you see that kind of backwoods engineering all the time here in Nawth Florida.
Usually on Mama’s car you’d use that 2×6- on Daddy’s truck you’d use a chunk of “reallocated” railroad tie.

Up here in the red part of the blue state, that’s actually pretty normal – although it’s usually on a 1980’s pickup, not a 1990’s Sable Wagon.

The only thing that would make that better would be if it had “I brake for tailgaters” painted on it.

  4. Sheer freaking funny. Did you drive off the road?

    1. That’s an Escort, not a Sable; and
    2. It would be “both” if the “bumper” had been spray painted chrome.

As it stands it’s simply redneck…

  7. Seing as if I ha done this to my truck I’d have a strong desire to hit and push things (auto tap-rack drill! 🙂 )

I call genius, but its also VERY redneck!

  8. Hey I resemble that photo! 40 years ago my poor father taught 3 daughters and my mom to drive the stick shift that was in the used Toyota Celica he purchased as a second car. By time my youngest sister was done that’s what my dad put on as a front bumper with the words “Watch Out” spray painted in the center.
