Escape your life for a little while — come play in mine.

Proud owner of an LTC

Posted by Lissa on November 9, 2009

That’s right.

I am now the (careful, responsible) owner of a Class A Large Capacity License to Carry Firearms.

SQUEE!!!  🙂

I’d like to thank the Academy . . .

No, of course not.  But I would like to thank everyone who encouraged me to step onto this path.  That would be the entire membership of my “Bloggers I’ve Met (!)” blogroll, with particular gratitude to TOTWTYTR and Doubletrouble (and his lovely wife).  Thank you to Breda, Tam and Caleb, who welcomed a baby gunchick into the fold.

Jay G gets his own paragraph of thanks — without the bloggershoots he organized, who knows whether I would have entered the gunnie world?

And last but not least — thank you to my husband Mike.  He was the one to actually schedule the safety course, download the forms, and schedule the appointment with the police.  Without him, I’d probably be sitting here wistfully saying, “Gosh, it’d be nice to have a license . . . ”

Happy Monday, everyone!

UPDATE:  Jay G links.  Thanks!

    Congrats Lissa!

Is this a carry license or ownership license?

The timing worked out well, as Sig Sauer has a big sales promotion starting this coming weekend:
It’s not clear if that’s unique to Four Seasons, but it’s probably more widely available (or would be closely approximated by competitors to avoid losing customers to FS for the long term).

Mike – Good. IMO no $800+ pistol should come with only one magazine.

I 100% agree. One would think they must employ marketing people who could tell them that the last thing to do with customers buying new Sigs is make them feel like they’re being nickeled and dimed.

Congrats Lissa! Is it unrestricted? (for the non MA readers: a restricted LTC-A is an ownership permit only, an unrestricted is also a carry permit.)

That is terrific news. I’m glad to have played even a small part in this. Really, you’ve made my day. And Jay, you’ve played a large part in this process, don’t be modest. Congrats to you too!

Now you should start shopping around. There’s a gun shop in Lissaville, and several others around the area.

Thank you, everyone! And for those who asked — no restrictions. 🙂

  11. Congrats! it’s a good feeling, Ne? Also its a nice process to be done with.

BTW if you want anybody to tag along with you for a gun buy, I only live about 10 mins away from Four Seasons firearms, which has some of the best prices and selections for handguns and a good rifle selection.

Also Collector’s guns is not to far from there, and their ammo peripherals, and supply prices, as well as their long gun selection is pretty darn awesome.

I’m always looking for an excuse to stick my nose into the shops.

  12. Congrats!
