The stupidest thing you’ll read today

Posted by Lissa on February 5, 2009

Shoothouse Barbie, this one’s for you:

JERUSALEM—A leading animal advocacy group said the road to Mideast peace begins in a pita. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has requested Israel’s permission to post pro-vegetarian signs on both sides of its barriers with the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

PETA’s signs are in Hebrew and in English. They feature Israelis and Palestinians sitting down for a meat-free meal along with the slogans: “Give Peas a Chance,” and “Nonviolence Begins on Our Plates: Go Vegetarian.”

Got that, hillbilly meat-eating Bambi-murderers?  It’s not the religious strife, the terrorism, the conflicts of over land and right of return, the decades-into-centuries of military conflict, and certainly not the indoctrination of vulnerable children into a culture of seething hate that block peace in the Middle East.  IT’S THAT THE PEOPLE IN QUESTION ARE EATING MEAT.

Damn, why didn’t *I* think of that??

P.S. I meant that the quoted article was the stupidest thing you’ll read today.  If, however, you think that term applies to this whole blogpost — well, then, I’m going to whip me up a pea-shooter.

There just seems to be no end to the stupid ideas coming from PETA. They must have a mineral deficiency effecting their brain. One brain for the whole group and it’s A ROTTEN BRAIN! IT’S ROTTEN, I TELL YA! ROTTEN!

Maybe they should eat some meat to get those brain restoring vitamins and minerals.

It is up there for stupid, but I am not sure it won’t be beat by the next article I read on why we should back the bail out. . . .

Hey, if they’re all up for going there themselves to put up these billboards, more power to them. Just don’t want to hear them bitch when all of them get shot.

PETA seems to have swerved from an honorable interest in mistreatment of animals. Where the hell they sold out to vegetarians is inexplicable – they sold out the likelihood of serving their original interest, to pursue a religious fetish (vegetarian lifestyle).

I am almost enticed to entertain the vision of flying PETA members from all over the US – to post and keep up their signs between Israel and Gaza. Let them find out what vegetarian means in a desert. And fixing bullet holes in signs, while the bullets are flying. But, no, I won’t wish for a way to de-populate the twit community, I mean the ranks of PETA’s vegetarians.
